How we work

Most websites are developed on a fix price contract. We believe this is a problem as everybody has an imperfect understanding of how the final website is going to look and behave. Details on how particular features behave can be very difficult for everyone to explain and understand. There are many different potential outcomes and functionality’s that will only be thought of once the majority of the site is in place.

Newfangled works in small two or three week iterations.

As we find this is the most effect way to deliver a working website to you quicker.

  • Together we make a wish list which describes what you want in your website. This list is then used as our project plan.
  • We discuss and prioritise the items on your list. Together we will agree on what items in the wish list are to be built during the next iteration.
  • We build the items to be implemented within that iteration. Then we’ll meet up again to discuss the project.
We show you the results. The project will be published where you will be able to access it. This is that you can experience your new website as it evolves.
  • You pay us for the completed stage. Iterations are charged at $4,800 ex gst.
  • We will have another meeting to review the wishlist We keep repeating this development cycle until there is nothing left to implement on your wish list. Although the first completed iteration of the project will be functional, most likely it will be considered too basic for your needs.

The beauty of this style of development

  • We spend less time talking, and more time actually developing your website.
  • Being able to use the website throughout the development process gives you a much clearer understanding of how the project is progressing.
  • By having a functional website at the end of every iteration, means you can decide to progress with additional iterations when your comfortable to do so.
  • You can prioritise features on your wish list as the project evolves, based on your own experience with the new website. You can add or remove features if you want
  • By working in short iterations, we can address any concerns that arise before too much time or budget is spent.
